What is A "Continuing Care Retirement Community?

Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC) are designed for healthy people who want to age in place with adaptable accommodations that meet their health and housing needs as they change over time. A CCRC involves a contract that guarantees services and care over an extended period of time. The contract can be an entrance fee (most common), equity agreement, or monthly fee (least common). CCRCs are also known as "Life Care Communities", "Life Care Facilities" and "Continuing Care Retirement Facilities". Click here for more detailed information about CCRCs.
