International teacher, facilitator and Occupational Therapist Shoshana Shomberg has joined the advisory team of AIPatHome.com – specialists in age in place technologies, universal design homes and products education. She will be instrumental in the work AIPatHome has begun with the American Occupational Therapy Association to increase the awareness of the important role Occupational Therapists play in helping people to successfully age in place.
Ms. Shamberg has degrees in both occupational therapy and special education with a specialization in assistive technology and environmental modifications. She is president of Abilities OT Services and Seminars,Inc. (AOTSS) which was founded with the goal to assist clients, caregivers,and organizations to maximize safety, independence and access for persons who are aging or have disabilities.

Ms. Shamberg has over 30 years of experience in managing programs; working as a clinical therapist in pediatric school-based therapy, geriatric psych/physical disability rehab, nursing home, and homecare settings; and providing consulting services for elementary schools, educational institutions, businesses, community-service organizations, senior centers, and housing.
Shoshana is a Certified Brain Gym Consultant and Certified Irlen Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome Screener/Diagnostician. She has presented over 150 international training seminars on universal design, accessibility of the environment, and other topics related to independent living and authored numerous articles and textbook chapters on these topics.
